Is there a difference between silicone sealant and silicone adhesive?
A silicone sealant is a wet material that needs to “cure” or “dry” to reach its potential sealing properties. A silicone adhesive is a viscoelastic material and is pressure sensitive, not in need of any curing process. The bond strength does increase over time with adhesives as a result of flow of the adhesive (increase in the amount of contact the adhesive has with the surface it is applied increases the peel adhesion).
