What is the silicone masterbatch? What are the components?
10 Jun 2020
Color masterbatch, also known as color species, is a new type of special colorant for polymer materials, also known as pigment preparation, which is composed of three basic elements of pigment or dye, carrier and additives. It is an aggregate obtained by uniformly loading super-constant pigments or dyes in the resin, which can be called ColorMasterBatch (ColorMasterBatch), and its coloring ability is higher than the pigment itself. Simply put, the silicone masterbatch is a collection made of uniformly loaded ultra-constant pigments or dyes. What is the basic composition of silicone masterbatch?
1. Pigment or dye
Pigments are divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments.
Common organic pigments are phthalocyanine red, phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green, light fast red, polymer yellow, permanent purple, azo red, etc.
Common inorganic pigments are: cadmium red, cadmium yellow, titanium dioxide, carbon black, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, etc.
2. Carrier
The carrier is the matrix of the color masterbatch. The special color masterbatch generally uses the same resin as the carrier. The compatibility between the two is the best, but at the same time, the fluidity of the carrier must also be considered.
3. (Kang Li color masterbatch) dispersant
The melting point of the dispersant should be lower than the melting point of the resin, and it has good compatibility with the resin and good affinity with the pigment. The most commonly used dispersants are polyethylene, low molecular wax and stearate.
4. Additives
Such as flame retardants, whitening agents, antibacterial, antistatic, antioxidants, etc., unless the customer requires, otherwise the masterbatch generally does not contain the above additives.
