Why silicone cannot bonding with iron?
Why silicone rubber cannot bonding with iron? Silicone rubber and liquid silicone rubber overmolding iron usually select hardness iron metal as material. But they are non-stick, local bonding and degumming, etc. The reasons of silicone rubber cannot bonding iron may be: ①the silicone adhesive is wrong ②the wrong usages ③silicone materials or silicone adhesive poisoning.
Which kind of silicone adhesive applies for silicone over-molding?
Solid silicone rubber bonding with iron use CL-24 S-2 P for 170℃, silicone rubber by D.C.B.P or LSR bonding iron adhesive CL-26 AB.
① LSR to iron CL-26AB should be treated like A:B=1:1. According to the material needed bonding, you can read the related products specification
② clean the surface of iron thoroughly and wait it dry
③ curing the LSR and iron onto the molding machine for around 140℃
The usages:
Hot melt adhesive is a component adhesive, and it can be used directly. Treat the substrates with solvent like industrial to remove dirt and oil. Then brushing the adhesives and high or low temperature vulcanizing by hot melt. The first step is the most important. If it is uncleaned, there will be a phenomenon of non-stick.
