How to use and precautions for silicone treatment agent
05 Aug 2024
The main component of silicone is silicon dioxide. The surface is very inert and difficult to bond with other materials. Usually, a treatment agent is needed to treat the surface before bonding. This treatment agent is silicone treatment agent. Silicone treatment agent is a treatment agent used to activate the surface of silicone. Silicone treatment agent is also called silicone rubber adhesive or silicone adhesive, silicone rubber treatment agent, silicone back glue, silicone double-sided adhesive treatment agent.
Silicone treatment agent
Silicone treatment agent is mainly used for bonding silicone and difficult-to-bond materials. It can greatly increase the bonding strength of the two and achieve the effect of never falling off. The principle is to activate the inertness of the silicone surface, so that its surface adhesion is greatly improved. The principle is so simple and it is also very simple to use. Only three steps are required: cleaning, drying, and brushing.
The role of silicone treatment agent:
1. Mainly for bonding silicone and difficult-to-bond materials, the surface of silicone rubber is treated in advance to improve its surface adhesion and make it more firmly and stably bonded.
2. Silicone treatment agent is specially used for surface treatment of silicone rubber materials, which can effectively improve the surface polarity of silicone rubber materials and greatly improve the bonding performance. At the same time, after treatment, spray painting and screen printing on silicone rubber also have good performance.
3. Apply silicone treatment agent on high-temperature silicone rubber sheet, and then stick double-sided tape, so that the double-sided tape can be tightly attached to the silicone rubber sheet.
4. In application, treatment agent is often used together with quick-drying glue.
The use of silicone treatment agent can be applied or sprayed; first clean the surface of the material to be bonded, and decontaminate and degrease the bonding surface, wait for the surface to dry, apply the treatment agent to the silicone rubber to be bonded, activate its surface, and wait for the residual treatment agent solvent to evaporate (about 5 minutes) before bonding with instant glue. It is better to bond the glue point on the treated product within 25 seconds, and overtime will reduce the bonding strength.
Precautions for silicone treatment agent:
1. Storage should be away from fire, heat source, and direct sunlight.
2. Please seal the container immediately after use and store in a cool and dry place.
