How to use silicone treatment? Step by step guide
10 Jul 2024
Silicone treatment is a specially designed adhesive used to firmly bond silicone materials and some substrates together. Here is a step-by-step guide to using silicone treatment:
Step 1: Prepare the materials
Silicone material: Make sure the surface is clean and free of impurities such as dirt, grease or release agents.
Substrate: Make sure the substrate is undamaged, clean and free of impurities.
Silicone treatment: Make sure to purchase the treatment from a legitimate commercial source and follow the product instructions.
Step 2: Apply the treatment
Shake the treatment bottle before use to ensure that the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Using a clean brush or cotton swab, apply the silicone treatment to the surface of the silicone material to be bonded.
Make sure the treatment is applied evenly, covering the entire surface to be bonded and slightly extending beyond the edges.
Step 3: Drying
Wait for the treatment to dry, which takes about 5 to 10 minutes. After drying, a clear film will form on the surface of the silicone.
Step 4: Attach the substrate
Place the substrate on the silicone surface.
Press the substrate onto the silicone surface by hand to ensure a complete fit.
Step 5: Press and fix
Use a heat press or manually use a wooden roller to roll back and forth to ensure that the silicone and substrate are bonded together.
Leave the bonded silicone for a while to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
Notes:
When using silicone treatment agents, ensure that the working environment is well ventilated, avoid prolonged contact with the skin, and follow the precautions in the product instructions.
If you have any questions about how to use it, it is recommended to read the product manual or consult a professional.
