Medical silicone gel is widely used in the medical field to treat burns, scalds and other diseases, as well as scar repair.
Common medical silicone gels mainly include the following types:
Silicone gel patch:
Time of use: Generally, it is used early after the wound heals, usually 1 to 2 weeks after the wound heals.
How to use: Use a step-by-step approach. Apply it for 4 to 8 hours a day at the beginning, and then adjust the duration and interval of silicone gel film application according to the sensitivity of the skin and the patient's subjective feelings, and increase the usage time day by day until it is used continuously for 24 hours. A course of treatment is at least about 2 months, and the length of use time is based on the degree of scar softening and color recovery.
Silicone gel coating:
Usage characteristics: It is usually used in combination with scar massage. On the one hand, it can make the preparation fully combined with the scar surface, and on the other hand, the manual pressing itself has a certain effect of reducing and softening scars.
Silicone gel pressure-sensitive adhesive KL-6634AB:
KL-6634AB is a high-temperature silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive. The silicone gel is a two-component pressure-sensitive silicone rubber glue that cures quickly after heating. After curing, it has good adhesion to silicone and TPU fabric substrates;
It improves the surface peeling force of silicone. It has good flowability before curing; after curing, it has high transparency and good surface peeling force.
It is a skin-friendly glue that has passed FDA medical certification and is easy to clean [just rinse with neutral water]. It is typically used in invisible bras, health massage patches, mobile phone protectors and other products.
Medical silicone gel has multiple functions, including but not limited to scar repair, itching relief, prevention of bacterial infection, moisturizing protection, and inhibition of capillary hyperplasia. It can promote the growth of epidermal cells, accelerate the wound healing process, and reduce inflammatory reactions. As a scar repair drug, silicone gel can form a protective film on the wound surface, isolate the air, stabilize the skin condition at the wound, and thus relieve itching symptoms. At the same time, the ingredients in silicone gel form a thin film protective barrier on the skin surface, which helps to block the invasion of external bacteria and reduce the risk of bacterial infection in scars.
Please note that although medical silicone gel has multiple functions, you should follow the doctor's advice when using it and choose the appropriate silicone gel type and method of use according to your own situation. At the same time, keeping the wound dry, personal hygiene, and a reasonable diet are also important factors in promoting wound healing and scar repair.
