What glue to use to bond stainless steel and plastic
06 Aug 2024
When bonding stainless steel and plastic, it is crucial to choose the right glue to ensure a strong connection and reliable performance between two very different materials.
Here are some recommended glue types and their characteristics:
1. KN-300A Silicone and Stainless Steel Bonding Glue
Features: It is a special glue used for bonding silicone to metal (stainless steel, iron, aluminum copper, etc.) and plastic at room temperature. It is widely used in the production and processing of electronic appliances, automobiles, instruments, medical equipment, kitchen supplies, etc.
2. Quick-drying glue KL-363-1 series
Application range: Suitable for bonding metal, rubber, plastic, wood, foam substrate and PP and other materials. Colorless and transparent liquid, surface drying time 20-30S, actual drying time 4-8h. It has the advantages of fast drying, good adhesion, low whitening, and a wide range of applications.
Use precautions: Before use, it is necessary to ensure that the stainless steel and plastic surfaces are properly treated, such as cleaning and roughening, to improve the adhesion of the adhesive.
Comprehensive consideration
For situations where high-strength and reliable connections are required, it is recommended to use structural adhesive or epoxy resin adhesive.
If the requirements for bonding strength are not particularly high, or quick bonding is required, you can consider using 502 glue or AB glue.
When selecting glue, you also need to consider factors such as the temperature, humidity, and possible chemical exposure of the use environment to ensure that the selected glue can maintain a stable connection under various conditions.
Please note that the above recommendations are for reference only. In actual applications, it is recommended to select the appropriate glue according to specific needs and material properties, and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
