Precautions when using glue for bonding metal
02 Dec 2023
1. What should you pay attention to when using glue to stick to metal:
1. The metal bonding surface must be clean and free of any contaminants, such as dirt, oil stains, lubricants and rust;
2. When taking the product out of the refrigerated environment, use it after the glue reaches room temperature;
3. Keep away from children, and it is recommended to use it in a ventilated place;
4. Please do not wear gloves when operating. If you want to wear gloves, please choose rubber gloves;
5. If it accidentally comes into contact with the skin, do not wipe it with paper towels, please wash it immediately with soap and water;
2. What are the advantages of metal adhesives for bonding metals?
1. Metal bonding is superior to welding, riveting, and threaded connections in some aspects. It is especially useful for repairing defects and repairing damage to metal parts.
2. Metal bonding will not cause structural deformation and organizational changes due to high-temperature heating like welding, nor will it cause stress concentration and strength reduction like riveting and threaded joints due to drilled toggle buckles, nor will it cause differences in strength like brazing. Metal contact causes electrochemical corrosion.
3. Some product components are often connected by bonding, such as the links of non-magnetic metal structures of maglev high-speed trains. There is no other option except metal bonding.
4. Metals are easier to bond due to their high surface energy. As long as the glue is selected appropriately, the joints are reasonable, and the workmanship is proper, you will obtain satisfactory bonding results.
