What materials are silicone adhesives often bonded to?
30 Nov 2023
Silicone adhesives are often used to bond silicone to silicone, metal, ABS, PC, PS, ABS+PC mixtures. Before bonding, you need to understand the material characteristics and the structural and process requirements of the products to be bonded, such as: temperature resistance , color, corrosion resistance, waterproofing, aging resistance, glue curing time
There are two types of glue for bonding the materials described above. They are quick-drying glue and slow-drying glue. For local bonding of small areas or large products, it is best to use quick-drying glue.
For large-area bonding, if the glue is required to be as flexible as silicone after curing, long-term water-resistant, and with a temperature above 100-280 degrees, a slower-drying glue must be used. This kind of glue has a long opening time after application and needs to be reserved for time. One-step operations are more suitable for use.
